Default Rifle Windshield

Well the new Rifle windshield was waiting for me when I got home from work today.

It was well packed, with no possibility of damage from heavy handed delivery people.

All parts seem to be well made, and instructions are easy to understand, with the exception of replacing two screws, that I didn't see a need for.

Unpacking, and install took about a half hour. A second time would be less than 10 min.

I ordered the +1inch taller shield with the 2 inch narrower hand guard clarence. The shield is 8 inches wider than the stock one, but I can't figure out how they are calming it's taller. After mounting it , I measured straight up from the tank to a level resting on the top of the shield, and the new shield is a half inch shorter than the stock one.

The hand guards still touch the shield when you lock the bars, but just barely.

I like the looks of it on the bike, and adjusting the angle is straight forward, and easy, with a 10mm socket, but changing the height requires removal of the whole works just like the stock one.

I know your waiting for the ride report, and you are just going to have to wait, because it's raining here now, and I just heard the severe weather siren go off. No riding for this cowboy today, and rain is predicted for tomorrow too. It's looking like Saturday will be my first chance to try it out.

F.Y.I. I called Rifle about the height issue, but haven't heard back yet.
