Default Michigan Road Trip

Well we just got back from another 1,200 mile, 6 day run. Here is a brief summary of the trip. We typically leave about 1/2 after sun up and ride 220 - 270 miles a day (6-7 hrs.) with stops along the way, evey 1 - 2 hrs. for about 15 -30 minutes. Temps ranged from 40 - 75 (F)

Sun.
Leaving central Wisconsin, 100 miles to the ferry. Crossing lake Michigan, good time for a nap, smooth water @ 75 degrees F. Stayed the nite in the state room. Very basic, but different.

Mon.
We left Ludington, and followed the west coast of Michigan, Very nice ride. On the way we stopped for food, after that we headed up to Mackanaw and spent the night. !/2 hr. after we arrived, it dumped rain, got lucky. Nice Spa

Tues.
Left about 8:00 50 degrees F, 20 mph wind, crossing the Mackenaw bridge, big honkin bridge (5 miles long). The road grates were not the issue, the wind was. Traffic was going about 25 mph, fast enough. We headed north to Tahquaman Falls then to lake Superior, then headed west along the coast, and spent the nite in Marquette. Nice Spa

Wed.
Headed up to Copper Harbor, and spent the night at Eagle River, about 20 miles west of Copper Harbor, found a place about 20 feet off lake Superior, Nice. While getting gas, we meet a 20 something gal, riding a Harley Cruser. she said we have to go to Ontonagon (West).

Thurs
The ride west was great, colors starting to turn, with gentle turns. Then headed to the Porcupine Mts., then down to Minoqua (Wisc.) for the night. Nice Spa w/lounge.

Fri.
We headed home, 5 hrs (240 miles) with a stop for breakfast.

Hope this wasn't too windy.
