Default Does your Kat start right away?

I have a 96 Kat with about 30K on it that I bought used several weeks ago. I live in southern Cal so it's not too cold. It usually takes about 10 tries to start her up if I let her sit for a few hours or overnite. Is this normal? After I ride for awhile, I can park for about 2 hours and she'll start up first attempt. A little longer and I'm back to about 10 attempts before she start's up. Brand new battery. Choke all the way open. Throttle too. Just want to know if this is normal for my bike.
