Default questions about Katanas

I just picked up a 1997 Katana 600. I've been looking around but haven't found much of an aftermarket besides exhaust and jet kits. What are some companies making parts for this bike? I'm interested in anything form cams to suspension.

One other question. How can I go about lowering my bike? Does anyone make lowering links or springs for the front?

Sorry if these sound like newb questions but I am a newb so bare with me.

I don't even know what a cam is. So I guess I'm the newbie. Someone knows.

Camshaft. It's like the "mechanical brain" of the engine.

Welcome! Nut might have a source for older cams. He'll be here sometime this weekend, between wrenches and beer!

As for the forks, you should be able to slide them up into the triple clamp, in turn lowering the front.

That's what I was planning on doing if I couldn't find springs. How would I go about lowering the rear? I can't find anyone who makes lowering links.

Heres a link. I know your year isn't included, but contact them directly. They probably still have some available for your bike.

One more thing. I have a ticking noise coming from the engine. I'm thinking a lifter. Can I adjust them or should it be replaced? Where do I get these or how do I go about adjusting them?

you should be able to adjust them, depending on wear you may need to replace.
How's your oil level?
