Default Carburetion Problem, HELP!!!!

I have a 1989 Suzuki GSX600F, and when i am going about 80 the bike feels like it is skipping or misfiring, but i know its a carburetion problem bc there is fuel dripping from the airbox when i got the bike parked, and its drinking fuel like crazy, i went through a whole tank in two days. In addition, after riding my right boot has oil on it, so i called the dealer and the service guy said the problems were linked, so i set an appointment, but they are booked until November 12!!! I have a Clymer's arriving in a few days and im real good with cars, never worked in depth on a bike before, other than changing the filters and plugs. I was hoping someone here could help me out and point me in the right direction. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance!!
