I agree with Schaw yoshes are nice pipes, sound good, & are easy 2 install. I have a 06' 600 Kat with a Yoshimura RS-3 oval stainless steel slip-on system. Installtion was the same. I didn't search 4 best price before buying it, mine cost $362 with tax. Part No. SU623SOC or SU623SOCX it's 4 98'-06' 600 GSX-F Kats. Instructions that came with it say results may vary & has a dyno graph showing about 3 hp & 2 ftlb gain across the rpm band from 4,000-Redline on a 99' 600. + any weigh drop is good 4 the hefty kat (I wish I weight difference between stock & yosh)

Also with a aftermarket pipe & K&N filter air flow can increase so much it can get too lean & need 2 be jetted. I put a jet kit on mine. With the yosh exhaust, K&N filter, & K&N jet kit I could really feel the power difference.

Ok, to start off, probably the best exhaust to go by would be the yoshi RS-3. Just adding a new exhaust isn't really gonna do much, you probably think it is more mentally than performance wise. In order to really feel a good performance increase, throw a simple jet kit in, not hard at all. If you want to feel it even more, go grab yourself an ignition advancer, they're only about 50 bucks and take about 20 mins to install. As far as K&N goes...they're pretty much the arch-enemy of the kat. They will work undoubtedly, but they suck. They may be a great name and work great in your car but as far as your kat goes, stay away. These are just a couple of tips to go by if you're looking for performance, obviously it's not everything but it's the cheapest/easiest things to do to your bike to get the best performance.
