Default 02 Katana 600 Fuel Issue

I recently purchased (about 6 months ago) this bike used for my first bike. It currently only has 5500 miles. Anyway, my question is that it seems as though whenever I leave the bike parked, the fuel gauge goes down when i restart it. I've taken note of the fuel gauge leve when I park the bike, and sometimes even after a day it appears to have gone down slightly. I've never noticed any leakage by the excess fuel drainage tube (I'm not really sure what's it called) until today when i pulled the bike out and saw a small puddle on the ground, and the tube was slightly wet. Do you think my bike is leaking fuel (or evaporting it)? If so, what can I do about this? Otherwise, what could be causing this?

Sorry for sounding like a newb, but in all honesty I kind of am. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
