|  Almost lost my face shield!!!
Went to gas up and go for a short ride yesterday. So far I average 53 mpg on open road and 47.5 mpg around where I live........Anyway, I topped off my tank and headed out. Driving thru the country at 55 mph I decided to open her up a bit on this loooong stretch of open road. My speed was approaching 85 mph and noticed my face shield was rattleing?? then the left side came out!!! CRAP!!! I slowed down very fast, down-shifted and pulled off the road. When I removed my helmet (a KBC TK-77) and saw that the pivot point on my left side was broken!!! I pushed it back in and headed back home in a bent over position to keep the wind off my face.. My sport shield worked great. I just bought this helmet this past May and now I need a replacement shield. This time I'm getting two, keep the spare one in my sissy bar backpack. I hope these face shields last long thant this one!!! Anyway, just a bit of info....may want to keep an extra shield with you..... ride safe!!!!  dan |
