Congrats on the Classic! I plan on waiting until the 2009's come out! That will make my current ride three years old, and will also let HD work the any bugs out of the ABS or Brembos!

I recenly rode one at an open house, and love all the improvements they have made. The 96, the brakes, the way it shifts!! It is quite different from my Dad's '04, and I'm ready to take the plunge!

I am gonna go with the Silver and White, or Crimson Red!

Your going to love that cruise, I use mine on the Road King all the time. At first I thought I would only use it on longer rides, but as I got more familiar with it, I find that it's handy in town too.

like so.

I think everybody who buys a harley should have this avatar for a month or two. Or until the next one comes along.

..........and those of us who buy metric should have some other kind of silly avatar.

I'll let your imaginations run from there.

Dam man, your going to salivating over that thing all winter.

Just keep in mind when it finally does get here, cold new tires on cold blacktop don't get real good traction!

........and you believe the dealer when they tell you something?

How about when a part breaks on your bike and they say "your model, that part is on backorder, at least two weeks."

Have fun, and be careful.

I'm spending a big chunk of change this w/e too. Less exciting than yours, but it needs to be done. I'm going under the knife on Friday to have a new hip put in, so I'll be spending my w/e in a hospital bed. get it done now, and I'll be good to go for the riding season.

Sorry about the hi-jack Dave.

Thanks for all the well wishes guys.

The soup sounds great Clint, but I'm all set thanks anyways.

I should be back home & posting by Tuesday, when I had the other one done, I was only off work for 6 weeks.

I had concidered the Goldwing but the wife and I have a thing about American made.
I always thought Golwings were made in the US and I was right because someone already confirmed it. But really, I think they are not made in the US, they are put together in the US, assembled so to speak. Good enough. They pay wages to US workers.

How many Jap parts are there on a Harley Davidson these days?

I learned for instance that most Triumph parts come from the far east and Italy.

Not that it all matters. Heck, go and look at the GMC and Dodge parking lots and count the Jap cars the GMC and Dodge employees drive to work.

Bottom line: We should just buy what we like and the heck with it.
I have done it the other way and sometimes it backfires anyways.
