My RK has a Power Commander, Vance & Hines two into one Pro Pipe, and a Kuryakyn Hi-5 air cleaner. I had a custom map done on the Power Commander, and the dyno says I'm making 75 HP, and 80 foot pounds of torque.

When they did the custom map, I told them to set it for best MPG, rather than try and get all the power available, but it still was only getting 38 MPG when they got done, so I started playing with the mapping myself on my computer. When I finally got it where it seemed to be working the best for me, I had leaned the fuel/air mixture about 12% in the mid range (2600, to 3200 RPM), and 8% everywhere else. Now the motor feels stronger, it's getting better gas mileage, and the plugs are a nice tan color.

FYI I like to get down and boogie, I don't beat the crud out of it, but I don't ride easy either, My floor boards are always throwing sparks in the turns.

Thanks for the info about the rough ride with the lowered suspension, I was thinking of putting a lowering kit on mine. I haven't because I don't want to give up ground clearance, but if it's going to ride that bad, that's even more reason not to.

Congrats, you got what you wanted.

More importantly, you bought something you thought you wanted, drove it long enough to find out you something else. Won't blame you there, won't blame anybody after making an informed decision.

Because, quite frankly, few people make an informed decision.

Live long and ride far.

Buddy of mine just bought an 08 105th anniversary heritage softail classic...nice bike but they only come in copper, which is pretty bad.

Congrats on your purchase. You will definitely enjoy many great times on your new bike. I know the wait is tough but it will be worth it in the end. I waited 4+ weeks for my Street Glide and the first two were a real pain. Great choice on color, thank goodness you didn't also opt for the Duracell color scheme. Be safe.

I have an 02 Ultra classic which I really love the ride. The misses luvs the ride so much better than the Volusia that I did have. I rode an 06 classic today while mine was getting a 40000 mile service and I must say that it just left me wanting my Ultra with the communication ability, the electronic cruise control, the lowers to keep the wind off plus mine has a little more power. The classic is a great bike but by the time you add on the extras, you should of just bought the Ultra. Good luck with you Classic.

Kind of my feelings too! But that said I did not want a few of the things that are on it and I can add what I do want at a later date. Have to watch the budget ya know. I did add the ABS and the Security system now. The crusie control I can add later if I feel I want it. Its kind of plug and play with the new throttle system. Cb radio in the radio....I went through that faze back in the 80"s when Smoky and the Bandit was around. I'd like to think that I have out ground that. Lowers I don't know....i might get the leather ones. Extra speakers. I don't care and I have a new Linclon MKZ now with 14 speakers and when we are out we just talk. I can use just two to listen to my country stations. The communucation module can be added later but with stock pipes at 75 mph we had no problem talking.

A cb radio in this day and age of cell phones?

and then no cruise control? I hope the cb radio option didn't add much.

The way I read it, it sounded like he did not get the CB.

The CB radio or radio module is $299.99 list from the MoCo. Way to much.

Dave, now you have to get the "darth vader" avatar.

http://static.sky.com/images/pictures/1252708.jpg

like so.

I think everybody who buys a harley should have this avatar for a month or two. Or until the next one comes along.

..........and those of us who buy metric should have some other kind of silly avatar.

I'll let your imaginations run from there.

I don't think so but I was looking for a name for the bike. A few years ago wife and I looked a a sports car and it was going to be a black BMW Z3...we were going to name it Maude. She won't let me name the new black HD Maude. So dark Vader might work. I don't think that she would let me name it "Carmen" (Electra) But I will try it any way.

could always name the bike "Gilda" and see if she catches the reference.

Then you could say you're naming it after the late Gildna Radner, and not the Rita Hayworth movie.
