Go here > Mean City Cycles Custom Seat Werks

I had Allen work on my OEM C50 seat, then a couple friends rode their HD Classic and VTX down. For us, it's only a 700 mile round trip. I couldn't believe the quality work he does. UPS and FedEx delivered while I was there. CA, AZ, WA, NM, MS and WI are the states delivery addresses I remember.

Give him a call and see if he can help. He is located not far from the NC foot of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Without a comforable seat, riding is not fun and my "arse" agrees. Now I only stop between tanks 170miles when I am traveling and not joy riding or sight-seeing.

Hey Uturn, interesting....I wish I had seen them before I made the investment because I am sure I would have gone this route. However, all is not lost...I am going to ask them if they can make my stock Harley seat into a solo seat with better padding. I Have been thinking about turning the bike into a solo rider someday and this would be a great start.

Thanks again,

Throw a couple lead ingots into your saddlebags. That'll lower you down a bit.

Ordered the lowering blocks from JP (Rickerster, they did have them but I had to find them myslef in their catalog, they could not).

They are part number 700-427 for the 07/1200 custom $112. I will let you all know how well they work after I install them.

Thanks again to you all for your support.

I believe the Custom has shorter shocks already, same shocks as the "low" models, so if you put lowering blocks on the tire may rub the fender when you go over bumps, possibly wear through your wiring as well. What you should do is get taller heels, or hang upside down by your ankles every day to get that extra inch.

XL, I should have the blocks installed soon and then I will get some pics and let you all know how they work. I will test them out on some speed bumps.

Dang hard to make-up an inch these days!

Installed lowering blocks yesterday, did exactly what I wanted them to do, lowerd bike about an inch and now all is back to stock on the seat height and the bike is raked lower now in the back. I will get some pics soon, thanks again to all here for the support and info.

My feet are now FIRMLY flat on the ground with some bend bend in my knees while sitting on the bike and i'm not having to inch myself onto the gas tank in order to find the lowest spot on the bike anymore.

Added photos of the lowering blocks in above post. Left photo shows bracket and right photo shows bolt where shock used to mount to.

So what's next Bud? You got that Sporty the way you want it, or do you have some more changes in mind?

Funny you should ask...I'm adding a 12V cig-lighter outlet that is water proof and I have been thinking about saddle bags and a windsheild and then again, someday I may convert the bike into a complete solo machine (hee hee).

Also I am working on a mount for my Garmin GPS Nuve.

Now that rain has come to Oregon again, there will be lots of time to do additions during the dark days here. One thing about Oregonians, we really know how to appreciate GOOD WEATHER days. Basically we will get rain now off and on until next June.

Not sure if you can see a change from before:
