Default HD cooling??

Ok, I got a question about cooling of the engine on the 88 and or the new 96 incher. From what I under stand that when it gets hot the computer cuts out the back jug intermitenly. Also there may be an oil spray on the cylender walls like the C90 etc....I know that he V rod has it rear jug oil spray but what about the 96?

On the 07' you have to have that feature downloaded, it's free but you have to ask, it's the parade download I believe.

Thanks for the answer....How do you like the new bike? I have couple of questions. Did you get a paper owners manual or a CD? and how was the deal through Harley, did they deal much?

I had 15,000 miles on the M50 no mods except rider backrest and it was paid for they gave me 4,900.00 Which I used to pay for my EG. They don't work to much but If you let them know one dealer isn't charging for set up and such they may cut you a break. I can't keep off my new bike night and day from M50 (which I enjoyed very much) but man this EG is awesome the power and smooth cruising is like nothing I've had before. It handles just a easy as the M50 and weighs almost 800 lbs. Love the 6 speed when cruising the highways. I would highly recommend the 07's to anyone interested. Another big change is getting service or parts it's much easier with the Harley then it was with the Metric. Paper owener manual.

Do you know if that's available on the 06 models? The White Knight (white Road King) got pretty hot a few times last year trying to work my way through Sturgis. Stop & go, stop & go, stop & go, takes you about an hour to go the 3 miles through town, with the temps in the hi 90's, that rear cylinder cut out could be a real good thing.

They also make a cooling fan. $380.00 Part # 91550-00c
This fan goes in place iof the horn on the left side of the engine. Theromastaticly controled.

I saw those, ugly as sin, IMHO
I'll be going to the dealer later today, so I can check and see if that cutout download is available for my 06

My dealer told me the cut out download is only available for 07 models.

Besides being "Visually challenged", I would have to find a new location for my horn. Fact is, I like the looks of the stock horn, and it's as loud as most cars, so I don't want to mess with it.

Too bad...I ahve a friend witha 03 Road King with the optional fuel injection for that year and they told him he could get it. Well, you can always by the ugly fan or just drive sown the sidewalks.

My 06 is fuel injected too, so it should be the same as the 03. Obviously one of us got a wrong answer. I'll check with another dealer.

lol. I take it you have never been to Sturgis, the sidewalks are even more crowded than the streets. In fact, one of the reasons the traffic moves so slow, is because the pedestrians spill over into the streets.

lol. I hadn't thought about it, maybe I should put a picture up there of both the V Strom, and the Road King. The Strom is a more unusual bike, especially with the flame paint job I have on it.

Hey Fishpart,
How about a picture of your EG ? Did you get the Standard, classic or Ultra ? I have my heart set on the Standard when financing permits !
