Yeah, the Street Bob and the V-Rods are def the coolest "new" bikes that Harley has to offer. I do hear alot about the V-rod from both sides though. You either love it or hate it. Go and sit on one if you can. The feel is very much different than you expect. For instance, they don't have mid or forward controls, they are back quite further than one would have guessed.

This is true on the Street Rod, which has a more sport bike foot position. The V-Rod I rode had conventional cruiser foot positioining.

I see. I only got to sit on the street rod, because I thought it was the coolest looking one and the wife was trying to pry me from looking at the others.

They are very similar, the street rod has a higher seat as well as the afore mentioned sport bike peg positioning.

I'm really digging the Night Rod. The picture below should give you a good idea about the peg position.

Guy at work just crashed his. He traded an '03 Silver V-Rod for an '05 demo with a couple of hundred miles on it. Beautiful bike, kind of a frost blueish color. Had it three weeks and a woman pulled out in front of him this week. Bye-bye V-Rod. He's wearing a sling, but looking into another bike. Says he may fix it, but it's probably totalled. Damned shame.

The Night Rod has both. Mid controls and forward pegs.

Street Rod has Mid's only.

V-Rod A/B forwards only.

$15,500 isn't THAT expensive. Heck, the new Suzuki M109R is only 3 grand less than that, and the Yamaha Roadliner is $14,700 if you want a color other than black. The V-rod will hold its value better than either will.
