Totally uncalled for.

He never said that it was ridiculously monstrously powerful. It was a bike he arbitrarily picked out as an example while he tried to explain that a super sport is not a good idea for a beginner.

You obviously have some sort of issue. You need to drop the attitude, agree to disagree, and stop the personal attacks. They are getting us no where. Easy Rider is a good guy and usually has a lot of good insite and experience. The personal attacks are getting you no where and earning no respect.

If you really believe #1, then that pretty well proves #2.

A buddy of mine had one. They are great all around bikes. They run great, handle great, and parts are cheap. You guys are to much.

A GS500 is WAY to powerful a bike for any mere mortal(such as you or I) to control, especially a beginner. This behemoth of a beast of a machine which can reach near light speed with the mere slight 1/4 of an inch turn of a wrist(which is very difficult and overwhelming for us mere human beings - thanks for reminding me of that dave) is far too dangerous a machine to be ridden by anyone.. let me repeat.. ANYONE. Any human being who thinks they can tame this monstrosity knows nothing about motorcycling (I've been informed of this by the gods of knowledge, mentioned earlier, remember they think in facts, not opinions). If you DARE try to go with a Kawasaki Ninja 250 (as deemed the only bike that can travel safe speeds for any mere human by the god easy rider). Let me say again, that is only if you dare. A beginner with less than 25 years of experience should be on nothing larger than a 50cc engine (if that). May I recommend you build one of these Bar Stool Racers! instead. The top speed of 28 M.P.H. is surely too fast for anyone to control. So you may need to throw a limiter on that(I'd ask Easy and Dave if that would be enough, they may want you to take the engine out and just roll down hills instead, do not question their infinite wisdom). I know what you're thinking. The bar stool racer isn't even a motorcycle! For your foolish inquiry into such a powerful bike, I have prayed to and have been answered by the knowledge gods (mentioned above) that because of your inquiry you must start on 4 wheels, then move to two. As for your pennance for the audacity of asking your ridiculous question - you must buy a GS500 (then do as I did, following this statement) Take the 500 (i used my 1000) put her on her side so she is flat. Take a knife (preferably a K-Bar, cause they're sturdy) and stab the oil pan. Do the same to the gas tank. Let her bleed into the streets. Then set her ablaze. This MIGHT earn you the respect of ER and DCM, and then MAYBE somewhere down the line you can sit across the might Vespa 50cc scooter.

Again, I admit I was a fool before for questioning the fact and knowledge gods and am blessed by being able to be in the same forum as them.

Who is this guy? You missed out, Clint was riding circles around people on a 250 back in the day.
