Default 200 Rear Tire Question

I have a 2004 GSXR 600. I am in need of a new rear tire and was wondering if I could put a 200 on the stock rim. I was also wondering if anyone had done this and had any drawbacks or advantages to the wider tire. Thanks...

I believe the 600 comes with a 5.5 rim, this is not big enough for the 200. You would need a 6.25 rim for the 200.

I thought they all had 180-55s. Do they still use different width wheels?

Even if it did work, I will highly NOT recommend this ! Don't be a poseur - buy the spesific size which is recommended on your bike. It's a sportbike, and a sportbike is meant to handle twisties, and your bike will be harder to lean over, with a 200 tire.

IMHO, it really depends on what you bought the bike for. Some people just want to ride around town on a bike and aren't really concerned with fast cornering. If that's your story, the rear tire won't affect your end use negatively.

Personally, I think you should stick with stock tire sizes, but that's me.

I wholeheartedly agree. GSXRs are designed for the corners, and that's where they shine.

This should've been a more agressive lean, but I have not got any of me actually. Looking for a photographer though who will only take pictures of me
