Default Aint Skeered!

Who's afraid of a little cool weather? Not me, I took stock of my gear the other day. Seems the only thing lacking was a suitable pair of chaps, cured that with a trip to my local cycle haberdashery!

When I was stationed in England, black ice was a way of life for the late shift (me). Took the bike to work on it many a night, quite exciting!

I seem to recall citrus crop failures due to cold weather, in FLORIDA.
Least that is what they told us when they jacked up the price of OJ.

Soooo what are we talkin' Lou...Oct 5th?

I thought all Canadians east of the Rockies lived in igloo's. Least that's what I've been told by many a southern friend.

* looks for Sunny's clue x 4 *

Yeah yeah yeah, the real sad part is that the forecast for the end of the week is a minimum of 0 Celsius...

I'm pretty comfortable with the gear I have too...keeps me nice and toasty for the hour ride...was 40 F this morning, but it gets warmer by the ride home.

I haven't decided when I'll put the bike up...if at all this year.

Although...the cage does have a CD player and really good heat. It's a tempting offer...but alas, no matter how hard I try, that freaking cage still won't lean around corners.

The weather doesn't bother ME. What bothers me is the possibility of hitting a patch of ice...

My commute is basically along a river so the risk of condensation is much greater.

If it's anything like last winter, I may not put it up at all. Not likely though.

Those could be alot of fun!!! I may look into some chaps for those 32F and below morns, but my ride is much shorter than you folks, so I may not bother.

Hey, texrider..check out Fox Creek Leather! I just got my chaps (made in USA /NOT imported leather) They are thicker than anything I have found advertized and the fit is top class, made to order not of the rack! Lots of luck! This lady plans to ride ALL year long.

Was the coolest it's been here in 16 years. In the mid 20's (lower in some spots) in the Phoenix area. Rode to work 20 miles at 5 am in the morning. No problem, had my chaps on and my Cortech rider blues jacket with just a long sleeve t shirt underneath, toasty, except for my hands, need some glove liners.

Really surprised with the amount of warmth the jacket/liner provides. I used to be a leather jacket only rider, this beats it all the heck.
