Default Looking for first, Simple, Affordable GPS

Starting to research GPS...particularly for potential 3500 mile trip next summer...and I wanted to get recommendations from folks who have used them.

Here's what I want in the unit:

1. Street by street voice info...my initial plan is to tuck into a pocket, go by audio only vs mounting and trying to use screen

2. Compact, durable - since I'm not planning to use the screen while on the bike, I don't really care about screen size.

3. Pre-trip route planning - be able to plan routes on Google Maps and download to GPS. Would also be nice if it had an option similar to Google Maps that let me choose non-interstates/highways or walking routes for those time I create routes on the road.

4. Integrate mp3s (via microSD or similar)

5. Integrate communication such as chatterbox or similar (right now, this is the least important feature), but I could eventually want one device to provide such multitasking options...not interested in cell phone capability - too distracting and dangerous.

6. Strong battery life - I don't want a bunch of wiring to fool with, and I don't see myself pulling 12 hours days on the bike. 6-8 hours would probably be my max.

7. Of course the kicker...spend a little as possible for all of the above.

Thanks!
