Anybody had experience with Scala Rider? I was thinking I could also use the set when my neighbor and I go for longer rides/trips.

I'd mainly use a com system to with another rider or to listen to music. Don't care about receiving or placing phone calls from it...I'll do that on the rest stops.

I think the reason your not getting the answer your looking for is that you gave us to much information in your fist post, now instead of people responding to you question about communication devices they are all trying to give you marital advice.

Perhaps you should just re-post your question & leave out all the stuff about your hubby not wanting to ride. Just a thought.

Sidecar - he won't do it

Leave at home - that may be where we end up for the time being.
no offense... but it seems he's not willing to bend just a little bit for you to enjoy yourself.

i have gone on a road trip with a car... it was fun...

why won't he get in a sidecar?
why won't he get on the back?

not only will he not do anything for your hobby/passion, but seems that he's holding you back from it.

my 2 cents.

On the contrary, he went with me to check out my current used bike (after I never though I'd get one...just wanted to take the class), hasn't squawked too much about all the gear that keeps showing up (we all know there's always something else), and even surprised me 2 years ago with a Cycle Shell for xmas. (We don't have a garage and the tarp wasn't cutting it). So he's a good egg - it's just not his thing. Taught him a little in the parking lot, but he's just not interested and that's okay. We do other stuff together and that's cool. He might follow me to a state park park today and we'll have a picnic dinner.

I don't feel confident enough for him to ride on back (especially my 250) and I jokingly mentioned the side car, which made us both laugh. I think he'll do well as the "SAG Wagon" and I'll get the benefit of being able to pack more than one shirt.

Well, it sounds like you've a compromise going on, and that's good to hear!
