I'm planning a GPS purchase soon, and have a question for those that already have one. I can see distances very well, but need reading glasses for anything up close, including the GPS screens. Most of the new units have audible directions, so I can plug in a headset and have the speakers in my helmet. My question is, can I just keep the GPS unit in my shirt or jacket pocket, and will it still pick up the satellites? The people at the local stores (best buy, frye's) can't seem to answer that question with any certainty. BTW, I really like the Magellin Maestro 4250. It gets good reviews and it has a feature I like - you can avoid freeways in your route! I'm also looking at the Nuvi 750. The Zumo's are out of my price range, plus with me wanting to put the GPS into a pocket, there probably isn't any advantage to the Zumo for me anyway. Thanks. |
