| Hiya! My name's Carole, and I'm from North Texas. I don't have a bike yet, but I'm working on it. As a part of my mission to do so, I came up with the following way to earn the jingle to pay for the bike I want: "Urban Biker Goddess: Women in the Wind" - Digital Art Calendar 2007. This calendar is dedicated to women who ride; not just passengers or ornaments, but women who put themselves 'in the wind', and celebrate their freedom to do so. These are a series of original digital art images, showing women riders on bikes of all sorts; sport bikes, choppers, cruisers, dirt bikes, even trikes and sidehacks. Please feel free to visit Urban Biker Goddess to find out more, and visit the free gallery, downloads, and links to the calendar and online store for t-shirts, postcards and other products. Thanks for your consideration, and ride safe! ~Carole |

| Are those original works? They look like screenshots of a video game.

| They are most definitely original works; if you'd like to see larger preview images, go to Urban Biker Goddess - Gallery - I was a bit limited in the size I could use for previews on the calendar site itself.

| And there's plenty of that out already out there. It's so overdone that I decided to try to be a little bit more original - and this gives the folks who want an alternative to the "bike porn" something a chance to have a choice in the matter. Besides, it's about the bikes, anyway, isn't it? I've had women bikers who thought even some of these images were too racy, but it's a matter of choice, and personal expression - that's what I love about America! | Welcome, I'm in Dallas as well. Were some of these done off of photos?

| These were all done based upon women I've known or seen; "Fixxer" was inspired by my eldest daughter, who will graduate with her mechanic's certification this spring. "Bobbie" is a composite of two women I know, both very petite ladies with an amazing spark of life. "Darla and Degan" is vaguely autobiographical; I'm leaning strongly towards getting a sidecar hack so that my granddaughter can ride with me in a couple of years. The closest that came to using a photographic reference is "Ivy" - I used a photo reference for the "Cordova" pose (Travis Pastrana at an X-Games event, if I remember correctly), but did a 3D camera rotation to present her in a way that most cameras aren't set up for at motocross events. One of the things I love about working in 3D is that I can create the environment, pose the character, and set up the lighting in a way that's similar to photography, but with a blatant disregard for time, physics and gravity - it's awesome! |
