What about chrome polish on pipes? Will the chemicals in chrome polish turn colors or burn from the heat? What is a proven polisher/cleaner for pipes and mufflers?

Use Mothers aluminum polish, has enough grit in it to remove road debris without scratching the chrome. Actually I use Turtle Wax Platnium on my bike, including the chrome and it has never discolored it, best of all, its the fastest wipe on wipe off wax I have ever seen, and the paint looks 5 feet deep...and its beads water a long time..

Been using Pikal for chrome polish on pipes and mufflers - the chemicals don't turn colors nor burn from the heat. Have also used it for cleaning light scratches on my helmet-shield to remove them. Heard that a buddy in the Sates saw the can: Pikal® Products for Cleaning and Polishing

I had a set of cheap saddlebags which I've since removed. The sagged during use and the bottom of the right side bag melted on the top pipe. I got it all cleaned up with Nano Polish, a toothbrush, and my thumbnail for the really stubborn bits.

Nano Polish works great on all the chrome. It's made by Eagle, and I bought it at the auto parts store for $5. It's a paste, so it lasts a really long time too.
