Hi everyone!!! First off what a ride!!! I've ridden a bunch of different bikes in my time but none to match the smooth ride of my Strat. It is by far the easiest bike to ride of any i have been on....

My questions are: first i want to put a set of Roadburner 3" step dragpipes on...
I eventually want to put the big air box on(saving for that), but for now just the pipes. Will i get the popping with only the pipe change??
Should i wait and install everything at once? I sure like the sound of my buddies roadliner with the 3"ers. He put all on at once so dosent know if it will pop with just the pipes...
any help would be greatly appreciated....:D

How do you people like Avon tires? I'm going in Friday to get a new set. This is about 4 months early. The Bridgestones I have on the bike didn't cut the mustard. The rear is down to the threads showings. The Bridgestones gave a nice ride, but didn't last. The Avon's are almost twice the price of the Bridgestones. I'm going with Avon Cobra Radials. The Front is a 130/70 HR18. The rear is a 200/70 HR17. I don't think the 10 MM wider on the rear will be clearance problem. It should ride well and last longer. I hope.

Has anyone had any problems with the front forks bottoming out. I had a highway bell hanging under the lower fork support (lower triple tree). The bell was about an 1 1/4 tall. After 4 months of hanging there. I suddenly have paint chips in my front fender right where the bell use to hang. The bell is gone and 6 paint chips remain. I can not collapse the front end with the break to even come close to hitting the fender. Nothing has changed that I know of. I can't figure this one out. It's a new one on me. What the hell happened. Any Ideas? I'm thinking maybe high speed over a speed bump. What do you think

Hey,
A plug for CC Seats in Paramount CA. I was their first Roadliner seat and I am
very happy with the results and price. I live nearby so I stopped by to see if and
how much since they had never done a 'liner seat before. About an hour later I rode off
on my modified stock seat. Chuy is a master of his craft and deftly removed about
2" of foam and narrowed the area that was putting pressure on the backs of my thighs
PLUS he installed a Gel Pad and reused the stock cover; all for about a C note.
A class operation!

Rear Wheel Removal - flat tire options

Has anyone removed the rear wheel of their liner for a flat repair / tire replacement?
How big a deal is it?

If you do everything in the manual it looks like an OMG project removing the seats, fender, muffler, etc. Looks like you would have pieces & parts scattered everywhere before you were done.

Do you think this is an exclusive Yamaha Dealer project or should any motorcycle dealer be able to do this without complications?

The Yamaha dealer wants to mark up the tire $100 from what I can buy it from the motorcycle superstore and then charge another $70 to install it.
The Honda dealer won't markup the tire at all but will charge $85 to install it.
The local tire shop will do it for $20 if I bring them the wheel and new tire.

Regarding repair versus replacement options.
The Yamaha dealer says - any puncture, replacement is needed.
The Honda dealer says - small puncture in the center of the tread (nowhere near the sidewall) and sometimes it can be fixed successfully. They make a judgement call on a case by case relying heavily on what the owner wants.
I would like to hear some experiences with flat repair jobs if anyone has some.

Thanks,
