OK, I took about an hour ride last evening with this new Mustang Wide Touring seat, and here are my observations.

Passenger Pillion:
The passenger seat is plenty wide and plush, and my passenger was very comfortable on this seat. She even stated that she could have ridden another hour or maybe more without issue. She further stated that she felt much better immediately after getting off than before, with no stiffness to work out like before. The pillion also slopes back just a bit so that she is not always sliding into me from behind every time I brake a bit hard or downshift a bit quickly. All of this coupled with a good back rest, has her feeling very comfy back there.

Driver Seat:
The driver seat is plenty wide, and I had no issues that way. It does feel a bit short from back to front, however, and at first I felt like when you sit on a small folding chair with a very short seat. The front edge of the seat seems to stop just ahead of my butt cheeks instead of extending a bit under my thighs, and it feels like there is a bit of a lump right there where it drips off on each side. However, as I rode I think I began to get used to this issue. I am also aware that the seat will brake in after 100 miles or so, and that hard spot may disappear, reducing the feeling of the seat being too short.

The driver seat, also, doesn’t come up over the tip of the tank as other seats do, but then I noticed that this area (around the boys) was a lot less cramped than before as well. The actual seat cup seemed very comfortable, offering very good support, and giving me no numb butt at all.

I will only know how this seat does for 1-1/2 to 2 hours when I actually get the opportunity to ride that long, but I can truly say that after an hour, I was not uncomfortable, and if it wasn’t as cold as it was, I could have ridden longer. I can only hope we get a bit of nice weather for a longer ride before the snow flies.

Earlier this year, I added some highway lights to my bike. I connected them via the extra plug that was in the headlight assembly of my bike. I noticed the other day that one of the highway lamps doesn’t turn on anymore (the right one if you’re sitting on the bike – if it makes a difference). The other light still works just fine, and both blinkers function just fine as well.

Is there a way to tell if it’s a bulb that needs replacement or if it’s a wiring issue without having to tear everything apart? Or maybe it needs a new bulb because of a wiring issue. Hmm...it just seems odd to me that a bulb would go out so soon.

I bought some grip warmers quite a while ago and have been procrastinating putting them on, partially because wiring scares me. Would someone who already installed them tell me where you wired it to?

Can I just go down to the local Auto Zone and replace it, or do I actually need to order this?

Does anyone have the specific specs I would need in order to replace it?

I stopped by our local Indian dealership today just for fun. I was the only one there. I talked about bikes and shot the %%%% with the salesman for about twenty five minutes. I told him I should take off and was getting ready to leave when he said "So do u want to go for a ride?". Ten minutes later I was cruising around on a 2009 Indian Chief Deluxe. What a sweet ride. 105 cubic inch motor. About 80 horses and 100 lbs torque. I currently ride a M50, which I love, but that bike was incredible. It as so smooth and handled as nimble as the M. I've never been on a bike that big and was a little intimidated however I felt comfortable as soon as I left the parking lot of the dealership.

I'm officially a fan. Too bad they start around a cool 25 grand. I was just so impressed. Great customer service and an overall great experience.

They said they'd give me 3 grand over my trade value on the M and pay my first 6 months payment. I've never been so tempted but just couldn't finance close to thirty grand on an impulse.

I must say. It is certainly a goal for the future. lol
