My schedule isn't completely set at this point, but the way things look now it will work for me. So I'm a really definite maybe.

As I mentioned before even though I'm a Wisconsin guy I'd be leaving from Kentucky that week.

Provided of course you guys don't mind having an old fart tag along.

Hi Sean (STP), havent seen you post lately, I trust all is well. Have you healed up yet from getting bit by the HD on your trip to CA.
Hey Rick. Just life getting in the way of everything I enjoy. I have absolutely no time at work to log in here. Even if I do they are tracking every site we go to and for alot of them we are actually denied access or have to call to add it to a safe list.

But now I have a new computer at home and I can actually walk normal again I can get downstairs to the office. So I have convinced "J" that I really need to come down here a little to check emails and the such.

But yeah,, healing up pretty good. Collarbone is fused now and about 3 more months before I can start putting stress on it (lifting, etc.). Foot is healed up. The knee is stable but I will have to get the meniscus fixed and a new dead person's ACL put in there to make it new again. But I am waiting till after the riding season this year to fix the knee. Gotta make Biketoberfest this year.

Thanks for asking!!! How's everything with you?

If you guys fix a date for Deal's Gap let me know. We might try to ride up there or something if I can work it out.

Maybe in a few years we might pull the Gatlinburg Trip back off the shelf again.

Having some dead person's ACL put in you sounds kind of gross, but at least you'll know that the parts are in good working order, I just got a letter from the Doctor that did my hip replacement, and was informed that the parts they put in me have been recalled, . That's right, I said recalled. I haven't talked to the Doctor yet, but I sure as h*** aint going to go through another surgery unless it's absolutely necessary. Might be time to talk to a lawyer too. Oh well life goes on.

Keep watching this post, if we do get a Deals Gap trip put together, you'll se it here first. It would be good to see you again, so do try and make it up.

I think this year I'll have to take the Strom, last year on the White Knight (my Road King) was OK, but as you found out, those roads sure are a lot more fun on a V Strom.

When there are some dates set, I'll check the calendar at work. I'm a couple hundred miles south in Georgia, I'd definitely be up for the ride. My parents are gonna bring their 'wing down in August and we are riding it then, but I'd like to see it before than if possible.

I know some of the group that "might" be going has more than one bike, how about we get a list of what your going to ride.

It would be nice to know what the competition,,,,ah,,,er,,,I mean other rider in the group, ya that's it, what the other riders in the group will be riding.

I'm planing on the V Strom this year The Road King is a lot more comfortable on the highway, but the Strom is waaaaaaay more fun in the twisties.

I'll be taking my one and only S50, probably the smallest cubic inches in the group. In addition to that I make it carry a few extra pounds of ballast, if you know what I mean. Keeps it a little tamer though.

Don't worry about that. First year tnichols came down with his S50 and he rode the Dragon like it was nothing but a straight line. That bike is nimble and he didn't even have to lean the bike hardly to make the turns.

Let's just say that he was up there in the front of the pack with the 1100's, 1500's, 1800's, and the like.

In fact he is a good person to pm if you guys do a trip this year.

I will watch the dates and see what you all are doing.

"J", Gumby, MoMo, MadDog, Susie, and myself are going up to Dillard on May 2nd. Then on the 3rd we anticipate running the Dragon and whatever else comes our way. Probably a good run of warwoman road and NC28.

Thanks stp, that's what I've heard. Not in my hands though, I try to be easy on my vehicles. I'd rather have them last longer than to go hard and fast.

Anyways, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

If I were to make one of these....I'd want those 1100s, 1500s, and 1800s to get outta the way so they didn't slow me & my 800 down.

Well I tell ya what. The boys up front there were riding those Cruisers like sport bikes. I mean things were dragging, sparks were flying, and the sport bike guys were even amazed at how fast they rode that thing. Not me. I was too busy leading the second group the first year with two State troopers on bikes right smack dab in front of me.

The second year I was the tail gunner and was trying to make sure no one got left behind. Which by the way,, I got left behind. I had to do some fast catch up to get back with the group.
