Default Canadian Star Days - Kingston

Never even thought to look on the map for you Canadian members to see if I would be travelin thru your back yards. The occasion was a rally in Kingston. We left MI early on Jun 15, to pick up additional riders in Sarnia and in London, to continue with us to Kingston. Wow, you riders that have to contend with the Toronto traffic on a daily basis have my sympathy and ad-miration. We have freeways and rush hour around the metro Detroit area too. It just doesn't compare, I don't think. On Saturday with a send-off from the Town Crier we followed the Kingston Chapter Pres (Charlie) on a police escorted, roughly 150 mile ride thru the lake region. At one point we even jumped on a ferry, managed to get the 120 plus bikes on at the same time. The food was great, as was the hospitality. The route we took had lots of nice manageable road speed twisties, intermittant views of the lake with its welcome cool breezes. We shared the comradery of lots of others who enjoy the cycling sport over some tall cool ones at end of day. Finally Sunday, we headed for home territory along the 402 - 401. Toronto treated us much nicer on the Sunday ride. So the weekend was great, roughly a 1000 miles of riding, beautiful sunny weather, all accident and incident free. Enjoyed Canada.

sounds like you may of enjoyed the beautiful area of Prince Edward County, Great roads, better scenery, plus a lake on a mountian(even though it just a hill) Glad you enjoyed some great parts of Ontario. Yeah traffic sometimes sucks in Toronto, but we are used to it. Luckily I walk to work.
