| For the riders who missed the Chattanooga ride, it was a blast and a thrill to ride throughout the Lookout Mountain area and back through parts of Southern Tennessee. Around 300 miles for the majority of us, but it was certainly a great ride and beautiful scenery. Plans for a May 6th ride to Barber, 29 Dreams and Mt. Cheaha area. Huntsville riders - We leave McDonalds on the Parkway (between Drake/Bob Wallace) at 7:30 a.m. Gadsden, Jacksonville & Sand Mountain riders - Huntsville riders will meet up with you at the intersection of Hwy 79/Hwy 231 near Cleveland, AL at 8:30 – 8:45 a.m. Next stop - Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum outside Birmingham - opens at 10:00 a.m. - Plans are to stay for 90 minutes or so. Admission $10.00. Next stop - 29 Dreams Bike Resort outside Birmingham near Leads, AL - should arrive 12:00 or so - Eat lunch & chill for a bit. Plans are to stay 90 minutes or so. Admission $5.00. Next stop - Mt. Cheaha state park (highest elevation in Alabama) - play on the twisties and stop at the park. We will make plans at that point to depart for home or for more riding. Any other riders from Birmingham, Talladega or other areas, let us know where you want to meet up. Keep in mind the area/times stated above. |
