Default Ortega Highway / Hell's Kitchen

I had seen a thread recently regarding Hell's Kitchen, but I can't seem to find it. Anyhow, I rode the Ortegao Highway (Hwy 74) to have lunch at Hell's Kitchen yesterday. It was an absolutely gorgeous day. Only possible complaint could have been the heat.

The thread I had read had to do with supporting this motorcycle hangout while they may be going through tough times due to road construction. They are widening the road at places on the Orange County side, and it's down to one lane for up to three miles. This project will be on going til 2010.

We had no problems at all, but that was due to our timing. A week day, and before 3:00 pm. We had to wait about 4 minutes heading east at 1:30, and maybe 8 minutes heading back west at about 3:00. At that time tho the line heading east was long.

The highway is still in good shape, but due to the contruction, watch for some dirt and/or gravel. Less traffic than when I've been there on weekends was nice.

Hell's Kitchen is a biker hangout for all types of riders/bikes. Good atmosphere for all, and the food's good too. Whoever posted the original thread on supporting the place, I concur whole heartedly.
