I did it last June, it was great! (Google "Mother road rally") You will get a list of groups that offer "guides" The term "guide" is somewhat misleading, because you wind up seeing him only a couple of times a day (they tell you this up front) The road itself, is for the most part, not to inspiring, ( two places that stood out were Winslow, and Kingman in Arizona) but the people were great, and from what I was told, it's the same year after year. Even though the people change, the result is the same. Out of 50+ bikes, about half had done the trip before, some a many as 6 times. One pair was on there third trip, and they came over from England. Be prepared to to meet some cool people, and make some friends.

I favor the AZ portion of this ride! The towns along the way have really tried to keep things the same as they were 50 years ago..............ENJOY!!!

I agree, if you are looking for things in the flavor of the 50's, Az has the most. The rest is just hit-n-miss. Ca was the biggest disappointment, seemed like it was all either desert, with no one there, or freeway, with every one there.
