| May 2007 Member of the month ![]() | Will keep it in mind if we run out of room at the official Hotel of the 2007 Motorcycle-Journal meeting spot. By the way folks. Giovanna said she will still honor the rates if they have room available to those who have not decided for sure to go or not. But the rooms are going to be released back into inventory. Also how does everyone feel about meeting for breakfast before the ride at a pancake house outside of Gatlinburg???? We will have coupons at the front desk to a couple of different restaurants in town. Another thing,, I will be bringing my cooler so I can ice down frosty beverages and if want to we can hang by the pool one night as well.

| May 2007 Member of the month ![]() | Well crapola!!!!! That suxs man!!!! But we will ride a few thousand curves for ya. Got news today that there will be about 3 or 4 more Misfits going as well. So we should have a great turnout. Same weekend the GS rally and the SV or GSX rally is going to be there too. We will actually now have two days of two different rides going now. Day one will be the mini Dragon and a Scenic tour near Gatlinburg. Day two will be the Blue Ridge Parkway, Hellbender 28, Foothills Parkway, RiverRoad(?), and of course the Dragon. One thing to make sure is everyone go check out the Misfits webpage and review the handsignals and everyone make sure your bike is in tip top shape and ready to run. We have lost the chase vehice in case you were not aware so we will have to rely on our bikes. I will have a trailer and truck in Gatlinburg if there is any problems but if your bike breaks it will be after the rest of the group gets back before we can come back for you. I am going to get in touch with the fellow in Robinsville that offers a towing service and get his numbers as well. So go over everything and make sure that it is in good working order. The Dragon ride looks like it will be about a 180 mile day and the first day will be about a 100 mile day. But please brush up on your group riding info and handsignals please.

| May 2007 Member of the month ![]() | Talked to Rainman a little while ago. Will have a couple of safety briefs to go over prior to the ride. Again please review group riding procedures and hand signals so we can all have as safe of a ride as we had last year. Rainman has two good rides planned out for us all on Friday and Saturday. Everyone should really enjoy this ride. Not a butt burner like last years since we cut back the mileage some.

| Seat Tester | Ok...time to get into FULL prep mode for this trip. 1.) Like I mentioned before - it's time to make SURE your bike is in shape for this run. I will not hestitate to pull you aside and un-invite you on the group rides if I see someone running bald tires, obvious potential breakdown issues or a bike that is unsafe. There's nothing like someone breaking down or crashing that can ruin a good trip so do everything you possibly can to make sure that your bike is good to go for this run. Don't ruin it for your fellow riders by showing up with a bike that's going to be a problem. We didn't have a problem with this last year and I'd like to keep it that way. I just ponied up $400 for a new set of skins on the VTX myself. 2.) Lane crossing will not be tolerated. This kind of nonsense will draw my wrath in a way you don't even want to know about. img_8279.jpg (image) img_4247.jpg (image) Obviously, I won't be able to see back much past the road guards so if you see the guy in front of you doing this, you have my permission to kick their butt or tell me about it and I'll do it. I don't care if you think you can see around the corner or not - don't do it. Stay in your own lane. Hate to sound like an a-hole on this, but it's VERY frowned upon up there and for VERY good reason. It'll get you killed, possibly kill someone else and eventually will result in more police presence up there. 3.) Touring vs. Testosterone groups. While NONE of our scheduled rides will be hell bent, hair raising flat out speed runs, I am planning on picking up the pace a bit on Friday's ride after we get to the "Mini Dragon". The plan for Friday is to start out easy by making an easy scenic loop around the Roaring Fork Motor Trail which takes us out into the National Park a little ways and through some pretty nice, scenic areas and then loops back around to out the outside edge of Gatlinburg. From there, we'll head over to the Mini Dragon which is just about as tight and twisty, but VERY little traffic. This road runs about 7 1/2 miles and then turns to gravel at which point we'll turn around and head back. It's every bit as tight and twist as US129 so I think you'll enjoy it. From there we'll head back to Gatlinburg and call it a day to allow ya'll to do whatever you want. Some may want to go back out and ride some more or some may want to get an early start on the party. I need to stress here that if you're a newer rider or prefer a slower pace, you'll want to hang around Gatlinburg for Friday's outing or head out on your own. We're be picking up the pace and this will be more of an advanced ride. If you're one of those crotch rocket dudes that this still ain't fast enough for - tough cookies. Saturday's ride will be the big loop around the park. It will be more of a relaxed touring pace. There will be plenty of pee stops and we'll not be in any particular hurry. We're looking at just under 200 miles for this run and we've got the whole day to get it done so plan on an enjoyable day. We may even stop for some lesbian cheese. 4.) No drinking and riding. While I've been known to throw back some whiskey and have a good time after the ride - I make SURE it's after the ride and that I've got proper time to sleep it off. We're all adults here...let's act like it. It's dangerous enough out there without being hung over. Save the party for party. 5.) Like Sean mentioned - if you're not familiar with the hand signals, use of road guards or our manner of group riding that we used last year - now's the time to read up on it. Sean and I will be happy to answer any questions you might have...just PM us and we promise not to point and laugh at you. I just want to say that after talking to my guys after last year's ride - ya'll did one hell of a job of paying atttention and they said there were no problems to report. That's amazing to me with such a variety of skill and experience levels. That shows that you paid attention, listened to instructions and that this way of group riding works when done right. We had 0 accidents or mishaps last year and I'd REALLY like to keep it that way this year. I've said it before, but you folks last year were really some of the best to ride with I've ever encountered. I really hope that wasn't just some fluke. Anyway...as always...you can PM me with any questions or concerns you might have concerning the rides. We'll have a pre-ride safety briefing before both rides but hopefully, that'll be just a quick review of what we all already know. Thanks folks, Rainman |

| May 2007 Member of the month ![]() | Alot of good points. Not trying to be rude or anything people but we want to make sure everyone is safe and returns from the rides intact. We want everyone to enjoy the trips and come back with lots of stories to tell everyone. Please go check out this link to review the handsignals: Hand Signals - Georgia Misfits Riding Club Forums Here is a link that goes over group riding: Group Riding - Georgia Misfits Riding Club Forums I am looking forward to meeting everyone again and meeting those who I haven't met before. Soplease take the time to go over this and we now only have 29 days to go!!!!!

| May 2007 Member of the month ![]() | Hey Everyone. Got an offer for everyone. There is a restaurant named Corky's that offers food and drinks. They are offering a group menu and are going to reserve us seating for either Friday or Saturday evening. So the question is I am thinking that Saturday evening would be the best night to reserve the seating area. But if everyone would rather do it Friday then I can arrange that as well. The menu is a barbeque house fair but they have other items that are not just barbeque. Here is a price listing: $13.12 per person inclusive you can get any of the following with a salad, one side dish, drink, brownie and tax. Does not include gratuity. Beef Brisket, Pulled pork & 1/4 bbq chicken, 3/4lb smoked spare ribs, 2 bones of ribs & pulled pork or chicken tenders. The regular price of these are from $15.07 to $15.61 per person. $12.00 per person inclusive with salad, one side dish, brownie, and tax. Normal price is $14.30 to $15.61 per person. These are the non-bbq choices: Beef brisket, grilled chicken, smoked turkey, pulled pork, and chicken tenders. Main difference here is no drink. $8.93 per person served with a brownie and a drink. Regular price is $11.46 per person. No salad or side dishes. Choices are hamnburger & fries, bbq sandwich & fries, Chicken fingers and fries, bbq nachos, adn a combo platter of buffalo wings, fried mozzarella sticks, and chicken tenders. Either that or I can just tell her that we will order off the regular menu. They also have a pancake house that is on the way out of Gatlinburg a few miles that we are going to meet up at for the ride on Friday or Saturday for the safety briefing and breakfast. I am going to reserve the space for us starting at 7:00 or 7:30 am till 9:00 am. This way it gives us all a chance to pad the bellies and have a palce to go over safety procedures prior to the ride. But I need input on the Corky's whether we want to do it Friday night or Saturday night. Also do we want one of the group menus or do we just want to order off the menu. Let me know your opinions asap because I have to give them an answer first part of next week.
