Ok people.... here is the price list for the bar idea. $3.75 for domestic, $4.50 for import, $5.50 for wine or mixed drinks, and $1.25 for sodas. She said they would set up the jukebox and a dance floor outside for us for free and if we spend at least $500.00 the bartender will be free. Otherwise the bartender will cost us $35.00 and hour.

But the way I look at it is if we have at least 30 people that buy 5 beers a piece at the $3.75 rate then the bar tender is covered. I know I can easily kill five beers so it should not be a problem.

My idea is to have them do this on Saturday night if everyone is game. Any ideas anyone????

Also I need to start getting a list together of how many bikes per party will be riding and when your parties will be arriving. I need to know this so we can make sure we have enough people to safely police the ride and I also want to make sure everyone arrives safely.

I will be cleaning out my pm box so if you will please pm or email me your info I'd appreciate it. If you can send me a phone number like people did last year I can call you to get the info we need.

ONLY TWO MONTHS TO GO!!!!!

Bah! I could spend that alone on myself. That's an easy benchmark.

Hey Sean, you might want to put the dates that we'll be riding 129 on this calendar. Killboy likes to be prepared for large groups so the can be sure to have it covered.

I was wondering about that the other day.........

Biketoberfest is out then?

About the bartender.....Even though I'm not going....and yes I'd probably spend the minimum for the bartender...it just seems to me that they're not giving you a break on pricing for beers. I'd expect pricing like that out of a large nightclub, not some little Mom -n- Pop hotel wanting to keep it's guests and their money on the property. I guess the big ??? is what are the local watering holes charging for drinks?

Some other things to consider.....maybe take her up on the offer of a DJ and a Dance floor down by the river, and let everyone bring there own?

i like that idea. what would they charge for the DJ and dancefloor? no matter what, it will always be cheaper to BYOB. also, there is the option for us to supply the drinks and the bartender to just serve it up so they are legal or what ever. don't know what the laws are there....

Another good idea outlaw. But I'm thinking you guys might still have to cough up $35/hr for that privilege.

I'm a BYOB kind of a guy myself, but I'll go along with whatever the majority wants.

For the record, I thought things worked fine last year, where we just did a liquor store run, than mixed our own drinks out of coolers that some attendees brought.

I also want to say thanks to everyone that has been donating there time, and money to set this thing up. Sean, your at the top of that list, I know you are getting help, but your the shaker & mover, it wouldn't be the same smooth operation we had last year without you. Thanks Bro! I'm really looking forward to another great w/e.

I'm more of a byob person as well. For the cost of 3 domestics, I can supply myself for the night. Besides, if we don't all throw enough down to hit $500, we'll owe an additional $35/hr. Maybe we can just reserve the area by the pool and do our own little thing free.

Someone else questioned about the local watering holes. How are they? If our group planned a large get together at the hotel, will enough people stay and participate to get full use? Or would people be enterested in getting out around town?

BYOB here as well.

As for the local establishments, I hopped a few last year with some companions and had a pretty good time, but it was the company I was with that made it fun. The bars are nothing spectacular, just your average place with a DJ or karioke.

Speaking of which Sean, what about getting the dance floor, DJ, and a karioke machine. I know your bride would love that, and you could throw down some Johnny Cash for everyone as well.

I'll look into the dance floor and the legalities of things. I will look into a few other things as well. One point is that Gumby has a karaoke machine that we might be able to haul in the truck if I take the truck for sure. Will look into that option as well.

I think all have a good point and thanks for the input. BYOB it is.
