Also we will be doing the re-con run on March 23rd weekend. Seems they are booked up the two weekends I checked into doing it sooner. So by the end of the month Rainman should have a killer route together for all of us.

| Well its official, just made reservations for a double queen standard. That was all that Dee had left as well as a king jacuzzi smoking. Now this was all in the same block, I am assuming that is where this whole group is staying correct?

The latest list. Still have three months to go and we already have almost as many rooms as we did last year. We are still shooting for the weekend of the 23rd/ 24th to do the scout run. As we did last year we intend on not strectching fuel stops past 80 to 100 miles. Is there anyone who cannot ride at least 80 miles let me know as most of the ride will encompass stretches of that distance beween fuel stops. But trust me we make several stops during the trip for photo ops and all.

| May 2007 Member of the month ![]() | Ok,, are there any changes or updates from anyone?? Anyone else that is thinking of going but has not yet reserved a room let me know so I can start planning if we will need an extra allotment of rooms. Right now we still have six available so I cannot secure anymore. We are still on target for the recon run up there the weekend of the 24th.

| May 2007 Member of the month ![]() | Sounds good!!!! Rainman and I are set to go up not this weekend but the next. We have reservations and all set to go scout out the route for this year. Also at the Misfits meeting tonight we got word that our President may be joining us this year. If his schedule will allow them that will be one more to come along. Ok people we have a new point of contact. Her name is Giovanna and she is a bike lover!!!! She said that her "EX-Boyfriend" used to take her on rides and she absolutely LOVES the Dragon's Tail. She said that anything she can do to help us out she will be more than happy to assist us. So when you call for reservations please ask for Giovanna. I also told her that there will be alot of single guys on this ride as well. She may possibly be looking for a ride that weekend on someone's bike,,never know. Outlaw if you book those rooms definitely let me know so I can block off about five or ten more for late deciders. Come on people!!!!! Only 2 1/2 months to go. If you want to go or are thinking of going please go ahead and book your rooms. It is getting harder for me to secure extra rooms without just cause. Once we hit one month to go any leftover rooms in our block get turned back over to the hotel and it is no gaurantee you will be able to reserve a room. I promise you this year will be as good if not better than last year's ride.

| Seat Tester | Question for ya'll: I'm looking at the maps, getting ready for the scouting run that STP1971 and I are doing this weekend. Since I've got the western side of the National park memorized, I'm looking at doing some scouting on the Eastern side this time for a possible run that way this time. It's a nice area...but I've just not been around that way as much as I have the West side. Anyway...looking at the maps, it appears that there's a chance there's not going to be a paved road OTHER than I40 that goes the direction we need to go. Is there anyone that's going to be totally freaked out if we have to ride 20 miles or so down I40 to get where we need to be? I'm not talking about spending all day on the Interstate - just using it as a means to get down to the SE corner of the the park. I'm not a big Interstate fan myself but what I need to know is if there's going to be anyone that will refuse to ride on the Interstate? There's two or three roads I need to check the condition of this weekend that will be my first choices..but I think from looking them up, they're probably national forest service (unpaved) roads that won't do for taking our group through. We'll see. Anyway...you can count on an adventure on par with what we did last year. Sean and I will be spending countless hours between now and June pouring over maps and talking it over to come up with the best run we can offer ya'll. I promise...we'll get in a Dragon run so don't worry...but I just don't want to do a total repeat of last year as where's the fun in that? We heard your comments from last year that the Saturday run was a bit long. It was 240 miles which is well within my comfort zone, but I understand that it was a HARD 240 miles, so we're going to try and cut it down to around 190 or so this year. Since we've got an extra day this year, we'll probably break it up somehow, but we'll work on that more this weekend. Anyway...if ya'll could let me know on the Interstate thing, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Rainman |
