Additionally...there are all the services you could ever need. Easy access to hotels, B & B's, numerous restaurants, mechanics, etc...

The leaves are just begining to change...it's been wickedly gorgeous!

I'd be more than happy to meet up with you folks...provide history and stuff about the area...make suggestions depending on the need...and of course to ride!!
I personally wouldn't mind heading that way for a road trip. So are you saying that you could have the means to put this together for next year???
What we would be looking for is some great riding roads with some twisties to keep the fun factor up, scenic views, nightlife, accomodations, and points of interest as well.

The main ride needs to be at least a half day event. Grant the ride we did was about 240 miles long on Saturday and it took about 8 hours or so to complete. I would say that to make a ride worthwhile I would be looking for a nice scenic ride to last about 6 hours at least for myself.

Good suggestion Apertureguy!!!! If you feel like you are up to the challenge come up with a game plan and propose it to everyone. Once we get a few suggestions in we can all vote on it. I think the Catskill mountains might be cool to check out.

Excellent! I think the Catskills sound wonderful too. I don't know about being up for the challenge of a complete game plan...but I'm sure I can come up with numerous suggestions.

To be honest, I never expected the idea would get any real consideration...so give me a few moments to gather my thoughts...I'll come up with something.

July???? Mid to latter part??? Would definitely have to be while school is out so that I can find a sitter for little "P".

I do not know that area at all. But I saw it on a map once. We could made an Americade up there??? Or at least get a big group together to travel up that way. But that will take some major planning well in advance in order for me to secure the time off.

I wonder if the Intruder is up for that challenge??? I could always trailer up there but what would be the fun in that???

That's right, I forgot this would be for next year. Which works out great...this way I can give it a good run through first. Making notes of all the sights and places to stop...looking for places that can handle a group of however many riders there might be, etc..

Americade up at Lake George (if that's where they always have it) is a very pretty ride...and the country up there has some very tastey twisties too.

There's also a roundabout run I've been considering (to Lake George) that would take a rider through NY, CT, Mass (maybe just touch Vermont) & then back through NY again...but it's some of the most scenic areas....and the roads would easily accomodate a whole slew of riders, plenty of services...and we can have different meet up points along the way depending on where the guys up north would come into the country.

There's also a few casinos in the area too...which is always something to consider.

I have no problem with travelling mostly, where ever we do it I would like a place that is the most central to the riders that would/could come so to maximize attendance.

+1!!!!! We would definitely have to make sure that the riders that say they want to do it and are influencing the decision will actually attend.

Does no good to vote on a location and the ones voting not attend.

I would love to go on another ride. But as far as whether or not I could go depends on job/finacing/distance. So i'll probably wait and see where its headed.

I stand a chance as long as you keep it away from the first week in June.

Anniversary you know, and the fact that a lot of the guys I work with take the summer months off to spend with their families, oh.....and don't forget about the Hollidays, I have to work on the Hollidays.

Just watching for now, but very interested.

Yes, I would need to schedule it carefully as well, got a couple of young ones too. Later in June is better...as is July. Perhaps something around the last week of June...before the holiday in July.
