Any idea Outlaw if we'd be going down toward the Smokey's and back or going north from Asheville?

I have to take off the entire weekend in order to make it...so I might be a last minute addition...dunno yet.

the plan, right now, is to go north up to grandfather mountain area and back.

Hey Terry, hope you can make it. Sounds like some nice riding into the Pisgah area.

I think I'm gonna take a nice, relaxing ocean ride to Savannah, then head in the next day, probably cruise back to Charleston for a night on the way back. Make it a 5-day vacation.

So, who else is up for this? TNicols, hutz, Jerryzuki, HammerPete and Rae (if you're still on this coast), Mavman and ViperBite? Maybe the Misfits need to head east a little more.

Crap, Crap, Crap. That is the same weekend the Misfits are doing the Pigeon Forge Weekend. I have already promised I'd attend that one. Got the reservations and all. Would say we could ride over to meet y'all,, but this is looking like the majority of the group that is going is different than the group that came up for the Dragon trip. So I seriously doubt we will make it.

If things change we will come up but for now we have reservations in Pigeon Forge. Looks like it will be a great ride Outlaw. That is some seriously cool riding territory up in those parts!!!!

Would love too, I was planning to go that way next month. My mom and sister live in Ashe county by the parkway. I haven't been there in ages.

Though, with work lately I know it wont happen. I saw our list for scheduled saturdays and so far every sat from now to mid october will be worked. So if anything maybe next year, it really sounds like fun.

I was planning on taking a trip in September back ti Illinois to see my family and test out the bike on a long trip, but who really wants to see family anyway? The distance is almost the same to Asheville.....
I would love to see the BWP. Now if I can ge my girlfriend to let me disappear for a few days!

Sorry, not this time around for me and wifey. The coffer's dry enough to burn like a twig, and I'd hafta' take a LOA to go--(not enough vacation time).

Have a good time and be safe to all that do go though

ok,,, will see Tuesday,,, but it looks like the Misfits have overbooked this weekend thing in Pigeon Forge. If that is the case then I might back out of it and then jump on board with this. It also looks like a couple of the Misfits that came along on the Dragon Trip are pondering the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Let us know Outlaw what the hotel says. "J" has already said that she definitley wants to do this if the other is full. I don't want to back out of the other commitment if they are not overbooked though. Like I said,, should know more Tuesday.

Well looks like I am still on for the Pigeon Forge trip. Talked to the Head Misfit and he said they were not overbooked as of yet. But if they do overbook then I told him I will back out and let someone else have my room there. So if I make this trip it will be a last minute thing.

Whoa! Hey now! I need to check the board more often! I've been so busy riding and working I didn't see this until today! Count me in! I'll be there! However, since I live so close to Ashville I may not get a room. (Dunno yet) The hotel you mentioned is decent. I've stayed there before without any problems and they are motorcycle friendly. It is also a great place to stage a ride from. Let me know if you would like some copies of some of the routes I run, they are all based on leaving from that motel.

Sorry, I haven't been checking this thread. As of right now it looks like I'm free that weekend. I let y'all know more later.

Any word yet, Outlaw, from the hotel?

At this point, it sounds like a trip from Asheville, up the Blue Ridge Parkway, towards Grandfather Mountain.
Dates:
arrive Sept 22nd
ride Sept 23rd
leave Sept 24th

Potentially staying at and staging from: Motel 6 1415 Tunnel Rd. Asheville, NC 28805

Where are we on attendees? It looks like:

PROBABLY ATTENDING
Outlaw
Droopy170
Techgesture
MrvanH
TNichols
JerryZuki
BlaznBlu

UNSURE
STP (hoping for an overbooking)
HammerPete and Rae (nice ride before heading West, Cowboy)
Dragbar (you know you want to)
Sunny (get that bike runnin')
S83 (just workin out the details yet)

PROBABLY OUT
Everett Keith (thinks work is more important)
Profane (has Everett rubbing off on him)

Is this sounding close so far? Please update if I missed anyone or if anyone is a definate. Hopefully we can get more to go on this beautiful ride.
