Default Official Ride Days - West Texas

I figured I'd get this started now. bajarider has mentioned that he wanted to get together for the ride days here. I was going to see if anyone else from the West Texas area would like to meet up for a ride.

Destination is undecided as of this point, so are times and dates.

Tell me know, and we'll figure it out.

Might try posting in the events and rides section too. Post them as a group of rides between the one that Intrudercruiser and you are doing would be cool!!!

Good Idea! Not a ton of members from the West Texas area on here though.

Guys how about hitting the Hill Country? Then maybe you can draw in some more riders.

if nothing else if we are looking for a long ride, maybe we could do something around san angelo/ brady area. then it could be more of a Texas ride. Its a long ride though.
Are we looking for a weekend ride or shorter day trip type ride.

I am thinking that if we did a shorter day trip then we could pick up more non-forum riders a little easier. Let me know what you think.

I figured we'd ride up towards the southern corner of OK, as there are some great roads that way, but its all up in the air at this point.

that sounds great to me. I am not familar with much to the north. To get to any good twisty roads south it take a bit. I sent a link to a guy here at work that just picked up an S 83 last week. Hopefully we will hear from him soon. There are alot of guys that ride here at work, but none of them ride to work.

Here is the "plan"

Quote:
I-27 N to Tulia, Take right, head West on 86 to Silverton, Quitaque, then Turkey. In Turkey, turn left head South on 70 for approximately 1 mile, turn left on 656 follow this to 94 and make a right turn and head South to Matador. This will be somewhere around 240 mile. Time……….how fast do you want to go?

86 splits in Silverton, if you take the North (left) fork it takes you above Caprock Canyons State Park. The South fork takes you to Quitaque. We could go up to the State Park from the South fork of 86. There are a tone of twisty two lane roads up there. It would be a great ride.

What are the possible dates? I may be able to get Justin, Suzanne, Jason, James, Aaron, Ricky, and possibly Chad (if he's in town) to go.

Like I told Kyle earlier, I'm so there. Plus he threatened to castrate me and pull my man card if I refused to go. I'm new here, btw. I ride an '04 Kawi Ninja 500. It's much less modified than Freakinout's, but it's fine. Hope to meet alot of the riders around here on the ride.
