Rent a trailer and bring the wife. That's the idea I am running with.

No problemo Viper. I've found a "u-haul" dealer in town that has motorcycle trailers to rent for less than $20 bucks a day. Probably go that route and also buy a hitch from them for more of these AWESOME adventures down the road.

Uh,,Blackie,,,,Sunny is planning to go!!!!! She is on board with the idea.

S83,,you need to pitch the idea to her that Gatlinburg has enough to offer for both of you. That town is,,now listen to this VERY carefully,,,the eastern united states wedding chapel capital. The eastern version of Las Vegas when it comes to that. You could "re-do" your vows to her there. Nice romantic evening with her, she gets to go shopping if she doesn't want to ride, and you get to ride. Scenery for her to enjoy, etc. You could sell it if you really try. No woman can resist a re-dedication of the vows thing. hint hint. Rent a trailer and tow it there or have her follow you in the cage.

Looks like Mavman and Viperbite will be meeting up. Is the Teach meeting up with you guys still???? The idea of swapping bikes on the trailer will help the Teach out too!!!! Great idea!!!!

Looks like Louis and Trapper are getting on board with it. Strong showing from the Great North!!!! Maybe after posting your routes some of the members along the way could meet up with you guys.

It would be like "The Lord of the Rings"!!!!! Major forces coming from across the land to slay the Dragon!!!!! Then drink and celebrate the conquest that night!!!!!! Well since it looks like they (Louis and Trapper) are coming then I better save some room for the wine I owe them.

Hey since there is wine involved,, what about Blackie???? Isn't his motto "Will ride for wine".

I hope EZ can make it.

Being as this is in the hills of Tennessee, I'm sure I can find something more than wine. Yeah, I'm talking about corn licker, white lighting, mountian dew, moonshine, what ever you want to call it.
PS: don't tell anybody.

I found an great map site - www.us.map24.com
It is 3D and very interactive. Cool feature, once you select your start point and destination you can fly the route. Check it out when planning your trip to the tail.

Ok,,, here is an update. I went on www.hotels.com and checked on some rates. I told them that we were looking for about 12 rooms. Only one hotel has that available in the downtown area. It is called the River terrace resort. With all taxes and fees they are $102.18 a night. They have either a standard King size room or a standard queen size room available. It appears that all the rooms are booking up pretty quick there already.

So getting ahead of the game is important. The fellow I talked to said if I could get two rooms paid for for both nights then they would be willing to hold the additional ten rooms for a few weeks. All rooms would have to be paid in full by the first of May to reserve the spot.

I am willing to go ahead and make my reservation. If we all want to try to get in the same hotel or at least close to each other we need to go ahead and start locking things in. This hotel looks pretty nice and it seems like I remember staying there a few years ago. It is right there in town so we are within walking distance to all the stuff and it should have plenty of parking for our bikes.

Is there anyone willing to go ahead and book a room with me???? Pete and Rae or BlackholeKelley will be splitting a room with me. or they can split one together and me and "J" can get our own room.

What I need to know is how many "Definates" are coming and what is the room types they want-- king or two queens. Post a response ASAP or PM me. I am going to go ahead and reserve my room for the two nights there. I would like to try to get us all together and according to this website they have no group discounts since it is peak summer season for them.

But I have stayed in Gatlinburg before and paid $150.00 a night during the leaf season and stayed in a rat hole. This should be a nice place to stay for an affordable rate. Let me know.

If we do not get something reserved soon then it looks like it will be everyman for himself. I will be going ahead and booking a room there.

Hey Stp could you check about trailer parking.
I know..."trailor queeenmyarse" But i have a rather hard to find back tire that IF something happens....I can't just go into a bike store and get one right away.
So yes I will likely trailer Rae's up and ride mine. Then ride mine back also.
Do you see what i am throwin down? Well gotta work on mustangs so talk to you later.

I just called the hotel and talked to them. The name of the Hotel is "River Terrace Resort". Website: www.riverterrace.com/accommodations.htm

I talked to Susan in group sales reservations and her number is 1-800-251-2040. She is going to call me back within the hour to give me the rates she can offer me.

They are "Pet Friendly" for those who choose to bring a pet. I know where they are. They are on a side street off of Main Street. They are across the street from Ripleys Aquarium. This puts us EXACTLY where we need to be to experience the nightlife and not have to walk ten miles back to the room.
All the restaurants are near by as are the bars. The attractions are also nearby. Great location for Gatlinburg.

They said they have over 205 units with plenty of parking and they said they should have plenty of room to park a truck and trailer combo. So those that are trailering their bikes will have a place to park the trailers.

I told them that we have several that are willing to go ahead and start reserving the rooms and that we may have as many as ten or more rooms.

I told her that I wanted pricing for rooms with queen, king, and double beds. Some with and some without jacuzzis, etc. As soon as she calls me back i will post her prices. Looks like it is coming togehter nicely. Advance planning is the key here!!!!! Thanks Teach for the quick response back!!!!
