Well ok,,, then. I already have a room full!!!! But if something changes you will be the first to know.

I asked some of the members of my riding group if they wanted to come along also....will have to see if they are game. Should be a blast!!!!!! Some of them have rode it numerous times and they also know some good routes along the way. If anything they may give me some good advice on different routes along the way.

LET'S get ready to PARTY!!!!

Sean....your Nextel is giving me a weird message.

BTW-Don't call mine today. It's a paperweight, and I don't have a charger with me.

OK Tim. Give me a buzz over the weekend. Need to see if you and Mrs. "I" will be coming up and riding up with us or are you meeting us there?

Ok Everyone,,, I signed my life away. I just signed the contract. It looks like looking at this contract that they may be holding the following for us:
8 total -- non-smoking jacuzzi rooms--- $89.00
2 total -- smoking jacuzzi rooms--- $89.00
1 total -- non-smoking king room deluxe--- $79.00
9 total -- non-smoking 2 queens deluxe --- $79.00

If there is a specific room required let them know. If you want a smoking room or a room for pets let them know as soon as possible.

Looking forward to meeting everyone. Post your status on here and let's us update the list from possibles, definites, or rooms reserved. That way I can get more rooms if needed or if the amount of rooms required for the group rates are not met we all will know what we are looking at.

Thanks,, Sean

See the updated list last page. We have several confirmations with reservations and one that is going but staying elsewhere.

Update.....let's just say-(when I get a hair up my ***)...I really get a....anyway.

I messed up...gotta room earlier this morning through hotels.com, don't worry......there telling us that's ok the rates better because the tax and such is cheaper through them rather than Susan....what we're trying to do is get it thrown in with the block of rooms for the motorcycles-journal.com gathering.

Don't worry...the room IS reserved and YES Viper is staying with us......but my wife keeps getting calls back from someone other than Susan not wanting to do that for us......Sooo we're trying to get the night manager....and get this settled. Can ya tell we don't do this very often?

Anyway, like I said....it's being worked on.

Mav

I got the rates quoted form the hotel directly and they said it was the same price. Maybe a dollar or two difference. If you can just cancel the room with Hotel.com and call them directly. They have 19 rooms left after mine that can be reserved until May 2nd. If hotels.com will not honor the rates then you are looking at $10.00 more per night on the non-jacuzzi rooms and $20.00 more on the jacuzzi rooms.

Good luck and let me know. I will pm you my phone number. Mavman, Viper, and the Teach I will pm all of you my number. Later, Sean

By the way, stp1971. My wife and I are for sure going to be there, just not staying at the motel. We live about an hour away.

By the way, I have plenty of room for parking trailers if anyone needs too and is willing to drive to zip code 37861

The problem with Lou and I is we thought we could ride together most of the way, but looking at the maps we wouldn't meet up until the NC northern border, unless one of us went 6 hours out of our way. Riding forty some odd hours (total) alone isn't attractive at this juncture.

Does it cost anything to reserve the room? I just got done paying off a speeding ticket so I just cleaned out my "play money" account for at least another two weeks! I don't want to miss out on the deal for the rooms. You got a great deal there!

i am IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! used to do "Cougarfest" when i had a cougar...one year in Pigeon Forge NC had 120 cougars from all over the country and the next year in Virginia Beach had like 80...now they do it in Indy and i hear it is huge!

my best friend will let me borrow his truck and trailer...my tentative plan is to go to Sean's house thursday night then ride the bike the rest of the weekend from there. then back to his house sunday and home monday. however, the friend with the truck also said he may want to go (he has a VTX 1300 with Bubs jughuggers)...so depending on his schedule, we may go straight to Gatlinburg on friday or whatever...will know more in a month or so.

I will be making reservations on monday for the King room WITH JACUZZI...2 long days on the bike will warrant a nice hot soak for sure. if my friend comes then either a rollaway or change the reservation to a 2-queen non-jacuzzi.

i am SOOOOO psyched already...is it june yet?!?!

also, TIM!!!!!!!!!! let me know if you are going....we could work something out...you can go with me (trailer will hold 2 or maybe even 3 bikes) so maybe just you and me or all three of us can take the "nancy" way up....

wooooohoooo i cant wait!

heres a few shots of the last time i was driving through Gatlinburg (on way home from Cougarfest in Pigeon Forge - which by the way is a DRY county so glad that idea didnt pan out)

the ski lift in the summer:

Cooter's Garage restaurant with the General Lee

Ober Gatlinburg...pretty famous spot where the tram up the mountain is:

Cool Doug. Glad to hear you are on board. Will be great to have ya along for the weekend. Maybe your friend will be able to make it or you can work something out with Tim. If this turns out to have a pretty good turnout as it seems we will have then maybe this could be a yearly event or we could have a roaming yearly event in different parts of the country each year.

I find myself wishing the months away to June now. Dang,,, hurry up riding weather and hurry up June 2nd!!!!!!!

tnichols,,, call Susan and talk to her. She told me that she was only taking my card number in order to hold the room but not billing the room to it until we check in or if we do not show for the first night without prior cancellation.

If something comes up you will have until May 2nd to cancell the room. But go ahead now and get your reservations so we can get the block to ourselves. Susan said they were trying to put all of us on the same side of one of the buildings so we could al be together and keep the bikes parked together.

Well maybe you Great North guys could rent a bike in Gatliburg for the weekend or at least the day. Fly down here or dive a car down here???? Just bring your gear and there ya go. Teach has thrown out a great offer and just toss it around and hopefully you guys will be able to come up with something. We would really love to get to actually meet you all.

But so far great responses to this and looks like we will have a good showing coming from all parts of the country. Florida, Georgia, Nebraska, Colorado, North Carolina, Indiana, Texas, and Tennessee. If there are any I missed sorry but I will try to also update the new list either tomorrow or Monday.

Looking forward to getting the chance to ride with everyone and hang out with you all.
