| I just got back from the 18th annual Toy Run. What a great time for a great cause! The organizers were planning for 40,000 riders. I don't know if they met that goal but I've never seen so many bikes in one place (actually 2 places) The ride started out in Pompano Beach at 10:00am and ended in Sunrise at Markham Park (approx 26 miles). I heard that the parade of bikes stretched from the entire length of the trip. Police had I-95 South and I-595 West closed to all traffic except for us. What an experience! I met up with Trini0 along with David, Mark and Steve from the Volusia Riders site for breakfast in Ft. Lauderdale at 6:00am. After eating, we gassed up and headed to the starting point at Pompano Harness Track. The first bikes started leaving around 10:00 and we pulled out close to 11:00 (and there were still thousands of riders behind us) Here's some pix that I took (unfortunately it is really hard to capture the overall mass of bikes) The first picture is: (left to right) me, Mark, Steve, Trini0(Gerard), and David http://img525.imageshack.us/my.php?i...yrun0016jw.jpg This was the staging area (bikes as far as you could see) http://img525.imageshack.us/my.php?i...yrun0049rn.jpg http://img525.imageshack.us/my.php?i...yrun0063ja.jpg These next 2 pix were the final parking areas in the park. I took them as I was leaving for home, but when we first got there they were already full along with 2 other huge areas. http://img525.imageshack.us/my.php?i...yrun0119xp.jpg http://img274.imageshack.us/my.php?i...yrun0128ul.jpg If you ever get the chance to participate in an event such as this in your area, by all means, DO IT!! You will never forget the experience and the fact that you doing it for the kids makes it that much more rewarding. |

| Wow! 40,000 riders! Our toy run this weekend (Brevard County) was 15,000 bikes. I thought that was huge. You're right, this is a great event for a good cause. When given an opportunity to particpate don't miss it. When the bikes start up the sound (rumble) reminds me of the space shuttle taking off. We left 45 minutes after the first bikes. What a great time. Glad you enjoyed your ride. |

| May 2007 Member of the month ![]() | I wanna ride!!!! I HATE THIS cold rainy weather!!!!!! It was SOOOOO nice in Tampa this weekend,,, thanks Doug for letting me and Kelley take the M around the corner. Glad to see you guys getting together to ride in Florida. All you Florida folks put on your calendar for Memorial Day weekend at Ginnie Springs this year. It will be a riding and camping weekend. Not everyone will be riding but there will be people that will stay at the campsite if you have kids that will attend. This will be a family fun weekend this year. I will post a thread on it soon. Congrats on enjoying the Florida sunshine this weekend!!!!

| Ok. Sorry for the late post. Just got back from NYC... I had a great time with Sundude, and the other guys from the VR site. Unfortunately, I had to cut out when we got to the ride's destination, to get to the airport on time. But here is what I got on my camera from the event -> http://www.trini0.org/ToyRun/ The 2nd to last pic, should give an idea as to how large this was. And it didn't capture everything...

| We saw the guy start it up and ride (drive?) it out. Sounds awesome. Biggest drawback is turning. When he pulled out of the spot and turned right, he had to use his left hand on the right grip and his arm was out about as far as you can get just to turn!
