Thatd be the first thing Id replace, all the gaskets around your cylinder. While you have it off, you should at least replace the rings and make sure you clean your exhaust valve. It will feel nice.

Most likely the head gasket. As was said do a top end ( Piston, Rings, wrist pin and bearing) and also clean out the Powervlaves. Make sure your gasket surfaces on the head and cylinder are completely clean.

If you still losse coolant after the rebuild you may have a bad impeller seal on the water pump.

Let us know how you make out.

Usually head gaskets dont go unless the whole top end is blown. Check your compression. Otherwise theres a oil seal in the case that goes bacd alot and gives ya the coolent in the case giving ya the milky ****.
Check this out.. Number 30 and 31 is the ones Im talking about. I had to do this to mine when this happened. Costed me about $12 to fix. (Im about 90% posotive thats what ya got going on)

If it was a head gasket that has gone how could the water be entering the gearbox? I agree and reckon it's the impeller shaft seal.
