| In ther clymer book I am trying to adjust a screw named "throttle stop adjuster" to set my idle....Is this the same screw as an idle screw or is that the pilot air screw? Anyway, turned it in about 1.5 turns and the bike will idle for about 20 seconds, which is better, but when trying to adjust the pilot air screw, no change happens....is there a correct way to set the throttle stop adjuster so I can then set my pilot air screw? Not sure how much I need to turn it in...thanks.

| just got done cranking it in another turn and a half (the throttle adjust)...it finally will idle now nice.....i do notice if i rev it up (while stopped in neutral) when it idles down...it idles high for a few seconds then goes into normal idle....i also notice no cutting out, bogging, seems very smooth and consistant when i rev it...so i got to be close, also when i drive it, it has tons of power and very little hesitation.....still for some reason, the pilot air screw makes no difference when i adjust it, it seems like.....still haven't been trying to kick start it...thats my main goal to be able to kickstart it easy....but will put a new plug in tomorrow and see what happens. plug looks black, but not oily black by the way...any opinions welcomed.

| Air screw adjustment will affect 0 to 1/4 throttle. You will not notice any big change with the air screw. What you will notice is you can tune out the idle lag that you described when the revs come down. It makes sence that your plug is black from what you describe. You should try and lean out the air screw to eliminate that idle lag when the throttle closes and it may also clean up the plug. Clockwise on the Airscrew richens the mix and counter clockwise leans the mixture. You should end up between 1/2-2 turns out. Last edited by Dave2122; 08-24-2005 at 09:43 PM. Reason: grammer |

| well thats good that you got it to idle and a new plug will almost definitely help your starting ability. Also my bike from now and then idles high for a few seconds then goes down, but if it stays high for longer than normal, just rev it again and it should go back down, works for mine.
