Default Weak rear brakes.

I have A 98 RM 125 and the rear brakes work fine at slow speed but won't stop hard at speed. Plenty of brake pad left and fluid is fine. Doesn't feel like air in the line. Maybe bleed anyway?

rear brakes aren't supposed to stop you in a hurry, that is the job of the front.

Not sure if this is different on a dirt bike, but I can't see that it would be right now

Every bike I have ridden (including drums) have been able to lock rear tire. This one won't.

try adjusting the rear brake lever so that its up more so that you dont have to push as far down to engage the brake, and the above post is right, but you should be atleast able to lock up your rear brakes, if you cant do that then theres something wrong.

I looked closer and I guess the brakes are gone. There is material, but the piston looks maxed out. I guess I will be buying brakes tommarow.

Just to add some info to this. If you happen to have this situation and the pads have plenty of life left. You can remove them and deglaze them with some 400 grit sand paper. When the pads get glazed they are as usless as tits on a bull.
