You need to make sure the injector oil is present in the oil tank before you do anything with the motor running!!!!!!!! I cannot stress this enough!!!

How is the compression? If it is decent then move to the carb and plug as was stated.

Definitely clean the carb out. My sons JR has lost a ton of power. I just took his carb apart and gave it a good cleaning. Also, in the pilot circuit there are two tiny jets screwed into the same threading. The second jet (the smaller one, possibly a restriction, Im not sure) seems to be a smaller size so I removed it. I use my arm to kickstart it now with ease and the bike seems to have gotten its power back plus a little extra. Im testing it on the trail today, Ill report my findings.

Well, I found you really dont need that extra little jet in the carb. Ran great for a little while but the little JR went back to being weak (weaker than when I first purchased it, even after a piston and ring change). Im fed up, cant wait to purchase the TTR-50E with electric start.

Also, should we be running straight gas or premix in it? (1980 JR 50)
