| Hey guys, I'm new to the board, and I just bought my first bike ever. Its a 1979 Suzuki TS 125 trail bike. I got it with around 10,000 original miles on it, and the thing runs really strong. Im doing some maintenance on it to keep it reliable for the next 6 months or so until I can afford a new bike. I've already taken it out on the trail a couple days ago and had the time of my life. One crash later and I just replaced the front brake lever and a couple other small parts. But now I'm hooked on riding!!!!! Anyway I spent all day going through the bike, and I've got a couple questions. I've got a Clymer guide on the way, but I need to know a few things so I can get this thing back on the trail. It needs an oil change, but I need to know how many quarts it needs to refill it with? Does anybody have any tips or experience with this particular bike? Anything to look out for or take care of? All the shocks are shot on it, I'm going to try to put new seals on the front shocks and refill the oil in them. I'm looking for a good set of used or new rear shocks too. Any info will be appreciated, I'm brand new to the Suzuki world and motorcycles in general!!!! Thanks! Evan

| I'm pretty sure they use the same gear box as the TS185 so try 700ml. DO NOT remove the oil injection and go to pre-mix as the one of the oil line feeds directly onto the main bearing. Make sure it's working properly and adjusted and you should be fine.

| What exactly is oil injection? The guy I bought the bike from said that it uses premix gas, so I've been doing that so far, mixing 4 oz oil for every 1 gallon of gas. I've got a clymers guide on the way that should explain things better too. Does anybody have any tips on rebuilding the front shocks? I've got new seals and oil for them so I'm gonna try that and hope they stiffen up some. I'm still looking for new or good used shocks for the rear. Thanks for the info so far!

| welcome to the best sport ever. oil injection means that you add your mixing oil to a tank (i think under the seat? not sure)instead of the gas. if you read the previous post, you might want to check that out, sounds like your internals count on it.as far as parts go, like posted earlier, e-bay, e-bay, e-bay, or buy new. try different searches, you will find something. good luck. |
