| I have a 1983 SP125 Headlights and Tailights won't come on, Turn signal won't flash. Checked accross the battery terminals... Boom it's showing 0.000 Volts and 3.2 Ohms, grounded.. Where do I start finding the grounded wire? Also, how do I adjust the timing chain tensioner, how tight should it be? Do you guys have an online manual somewhere? Thanks for the space. |

| Wow, no one? I got the headlights working, but the signal lights still won't flash. The bike starts right up so I guess, I just need to trace the short somewhere in wiring harness. Or could I be reading the resistance of the bulbs? When the lights are all off, and the ign on "run" and kill switch on "run" it still gives me 1.9 ohms across the battery terminal wires (batt disconnected)... Then I switch the turn signals and resistance gets lower to .9 ohms... What gives? I have burned out 2 batteries so far. |

| Yes you have a short in the system. I did not see this post or I would have commented. I suggest you replace the flasher 1st and see what happens. You do not need to adjust the cam cahin tensioner as it is an auto adjust unit from memory. I sugest you get a shop manual for the bike just so you can be 100 percent sure as my alzhiemers may kick in inthe next few years lol.

| Plus side on working on a bike... evrything is light and easily accesible. I did a thorough stripdown on the bike. Found that the harness was pinched by the tank looked closer and found my short. I'm gonna get all the crud out and put her back together. Hopefully this will be it for drivability issues.
