| My dr200 has a short piece of pipe forming a t junction just as the exhaust exits the head. Does anyone know what this is for? Is it necessary to include it if i make a new header pipe?

| Found the post DR guy. I'm not understanding the question. Are you saying that there's an extra pipe in conjunction with the header pipe? Does it go anywhere? I don't have anything like that (If I understand you right) on my 350, so I can't relate. If you can, a picture might help. Let's ride together sometime. |

| The extra pipe is about 1/2" diameter and runs parallel with the header pipe (after a 90 deg bend) for about 5", and is blanked off. I thought it may be a chamber of somekind. I'll get a pic when I can. Cheers

| From my knowledge of cars, I'd guess it's there to absorb shock and equalize exhaust pressure. This can lead to better exhaust gas scavenging and more power. Just a guess.
