Default Wanna beef up my '92 DR250

Hey guys, new here first of all.

I have a 92 suzuki DR250 and a 85 Honda XR200R (4 valve head and dual carbs).

But anyway i'm looking to upgrade the exhaust, intake, cam and maybe even put a big bore kit in it. Pretty much the works because I can't have enough power! I have a super trapp muffler on the Honda and like the disc system on it, plus I can take discs off to quiet it down if need be. I don't race the bike in motocross but do once in awhile get out to the local track to have a little fun. Mostly just running off-road through the woods and trails. The engine is very solid and runs great, I don't think it had too many hours on it when I got it, still has the original front tire with lots of knob left. So since the engine doesn't need a rebuild i'll probably go with a cam, intake and exhaust.

Also need to know where I can buy these parts from, would prefer some online shops that I can check some stuff out at. Also have a zuke dealer close by the house.

Thanks for any help guys!

Destructo,

I understand completely what you mean about wanting more power, believe me I do. Modifying the DR250 will not increase the power enough to shorting the lifespan of this motor. Alittle tweaking would be all that I would do. If you want more power go to a bigger bike. The DR250 is a sweet little bike and will last you forever, except for the kickstand. Good luck though and let me know what you find, I'd be interested in hearing about any modes you do. Have you taken the snorkle out of the air box yet, this should make it breath alittle better, alittle jetting adjustment could be done also to richen things up a bit. Stock these bikes run very lean.

Hiya Driver#22,
I wouldn't say it's mint but I bought it in February, it had 1600 total miles on it and it shows. Every thing is still original including the tires of which the front tire is getting pretty weather cracked and I need to replace it. It has a couple scuffs on on lower fork and front fender but nothing major. I've put on about 300 miles since the beginning of March and adore the little bike, it runs like a little Toro lawn tractor and even sounds similar at idle. Let me know if you run into some deals on spare parts I might be interested. I just picked up a OEM skid plate on Ebay for $19 including shipping. One of my favorite searches on Ebay is Suzuki DR, typically there is about 4 pages of stuff. I really need to find out what parts are interchangable from year to year and model. What are you in the progress of doing to yours??? Do you know where to get the Suzuki Blue paint, I haven't asked my local dealer yet.

Default Selling

That's sad to hear that you are selling the bike, hope things get better for you.

Good Luck
