Swaping out RMZ250 engine With RMZ450?? - Motorcycle-Journal Forums

Has anyone tried to swap a 250 engine with a 450? My 06 RMZ 250 just doesnt have enough power for me at the cinders and dunes so im looking to buy a 450 engine and drop it in. does anyone know if the motor mounts are the same? Thanks Austin

completely different frame. it could be done, but it would cost a lot more than just trading up for a 450

well my buddy got the bike for 2500$ and its a 06 and I figure we'll try to get 800 for the old 250 engine and buy any 450 engine for 1000 which there going for and I build all new motor mounts which wont cost much at all so really its not to expensive at all. and then buy all the accesories such as exhaust, intake, carb ect. but really we would just be trading parts. my buddy is paying payments to one of his friends so he cant really just trade the bike for a 450 until its paid off. thats exactly would I said to do at first to. The only thing Im worried about is if the motor will fit between the swingarm where one of the mounts are. but the 250 engine will be up for sale in a couple of days on ebay if anyone is looking for one.
