| Seat Tester | Hey guys... i recently bought a 92 rm 125 and fouled the few plugs that were given to me with the bike... I did a little research and found out that the recomended plug for the bike is 15$. the plug number is NGK R4118s-9. I was wondering what would happen if i ran a BR9-ES in it, if anything would happen??? could someone help me cuz i dont feel like spendin 15$ everytime i foul a plug. |

| DO NOT RUN ANY PLUG EXCEPT R4118S-9!!!!!!! You can get that plug for 7.44 US Dollars at www.sparkplugs.com Use part# R4118S-9 to find it on the site. Great company to deal with. You also need to look into reasons why you are fouling so many plugs. I have not fouled a plug in any of my 2 strokes in over 10 years. Plugs foul for a reason. Make sure you have correct jetting, clean out the carb, correct fuel mixture ratio etc etc.... |

| Seat Tester | um... well, before i read your post, i threw a br9es in it and it ran fine. the reason i fouled those plugs it because i am used to riding 4 strokes, and when i was warming the bike up, i revved it to high and caused it to flood and foul out. why is it so bad to run a different plug in my bike? they both have the same heat range and are the same size...

| 2 strokes are very finely tuned and any small change even as insignificant as changing to a differnt plug can have catastrophic results. I have seen melted pistons, detonation damage, Ring landings broken off the piston. Do what you want with the plugs but keep in mind Suzuki built the motor and tested it on a Dyno and settled on the R4118S-9. The Dyno runs are not only for horsepower they are for enduance runs also. So if Suzuki put that plug in then you should use that plug. That in itself is reason enough.to spend the 8 dollars on the right plug. |
