Default 1978 sp 370 clutch problem

Hey everyone out there, I am new to dirtbikes and have recently tried to get my 1978 sp 370 enduro up and running. When I first bought the bike it ran decent except that the kick start gear was shredded, so I started it by towing it behing my car, scary yes but it worked at 5 mph. THe bike ran great but it was apparent that the gear needed to be changed. SO after replacing the gear the kick starter will engage but the clutch will not do anything. It worked great before I took it apart and I put it back together just like it came off but I can't figure out why it will not engage at all.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks beforehand.

Kyle

There should be a small pushrod that sits in the end of the clutch basket. See if you have that in place. The 370 is a real handful to ride. Very fast but scary at the same time. The kick start gear is the achilies heel of the 370. I had broken mine a few years back. I sold my bike to a collector and god knows where it is now.

What i did to my sp 125 was i over tightened my clutch baske bolts they should be troqued at about 5 lbs (don`t take my word for it not 100% sure...) and adjust your clutch http://houseofmotorcycles.bikebandit...dept_id=997762

Make sure you didn`t miss any washers or bearings. But those 5 springes screwsare the culprit probally. Break a leg!!
