Default 92-93 RM250 Technical Carb Issue

Are the carbs interchangeable?

Have a 93 RM250 thats not too happy with its carburetor. A friend gave me a decent carb off a 92 RM250. Is it possible to replace the 93 with a 92? Whats the pros/cons of doing this? And is it even possible?

Appreciate any feedback! Thanks!

If they are the same model carb then yes you can change them. All you would need to change the Main jets, needle, air screw etc. The reason you need to change all the pieces over is due to the jetting always being changed year in and year out.

They are two different carb types, ones a Keihin and ones a Mikuni. Figured out they are indeed changeable because they are both 38mm I believe. Though, the 93 carb (Keihin) seems to be the better choice. Jettings not the problem, its whether the performance will lack between the two types. Whats the difference and if anyones done this before.

I am sure you can get either one to work just fine. I am partial to the Mikuni's as I have more experiance with them. My 02 RM250 has a Keihin 38mm on it and it seems to work well.
