Just took possession of a 2006 DR650. I checked blue book value and it ranged from $3900-$4400. It came with corbin seat, extra set of tires and tank bag. I got it for $3600, so I am happy. I had looked at several in the
97'-2002 year range and they all wanted at least $500 over high book price and all had been pretty sure of themselves, most had already sold them since there just aren't a lot of them available. I will add some pics later.

Cool! 1st bike? I would get in so much trouble if I had one of those. I could just see myself doing a wheelie down a median to get out of stop-n-go traffic on the way home from work

Actually I have a 2001 Kawasaki Nomad FI, and a 92 Suzuki DR350. Wanted to upgrade the 350 since my wife and I are moving to a remote area of NE Oregon this summer, most of the secondary roads are gravel so my Nomad will sit on those days. I am pretty excited about getting it out and putting it through its paces. Later.
